Else Kooi Lab is part of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science of Delft University of Technology. It offers the potential for users to take their scientific, proof-of-principle breakthroughs to the level of viable demonstrators.

The breath of the Else Kooi Lab tool set, materials and knowhow on devices, supports research into:

  • new nanostructures in solar cells
  • Organ-On-Chip devices with integrated graphene nanowires
  • new radiation detectors
  • various silicon based quantum devices and systems.

A nursery for successful start-ups

It offers the potential for users, both internal and external, to take their scientific, proof-of-principle breakthroughs to the level of viable demonstrators. Thus, it provides a unique link in the value chain from concept to product. The lab consists of a 1,500 m2 facility, hosting high topography lithography, epitaxial growth and support for very large scale integration (VLSI) research. It has been nursery for many successful start-ups such as Mapper, DensSolutions, Iszgro diodes, FLexus, and XI.

Expert technologies

  • Nanodevice integration
  • Sensors
  • Detectors
  • Wafer level integration
  • Microsystems
