Philips Innovation Services

Philips Innovation Services offers access to a range of advanced innovation services, expertise and high-tech facilities across the whole innovation process.

Our services extend from concept creation support, product and process development, prototyping and small series production, equipment development, quality and reliability, right through to sustainability and industrial consulting. We serve customers ranging from start-ups and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to multinationals and collaborative knowledge institutes. Philips Innovation Services is associate partner of NanoLabNL, offering its technology infrastructure and industrial expertise to create a bridge between scientific proof of concept and industrial implementation.

Total infrastructure and manpower resources:

  • 600 technical experts covering more than 60 competences
  • 60 industry consultants
  • 20,000 m2 of laboratories including 10,000 m2 cleanrooms (Class 10-10,000)
  • 3,500 m2 pilot production factory
  • 15,000 electronic instruments

Nano- and micro-system technology

Incorporating the MiPlaza multi-purpose cleanrooms and characterization labs, our services include:

  • Access to our industrial R&D clean room
  • Thin film process development support
  • Nano and micro system device development
  • Material, process and device characterization
  • Pilot and low volume fabrication
  • Technology transfer to volume manufacturing

Key technical capabilities:

  • Deposition, lithography, etching, measurement, substrates of any shape up to 200 mm
  • SCIL (Substrate conformal imprint lithography), e-beam lithography, double-sided processing lithography, Piezo MEMS, optical coatings, circuits on flexible substrates
  • Device integration, large area microstructuring by laser ablation, microfluidics, bio-cartridges, lab-on-a-chip, LEDs and OLEDs, thin-film encapsulation
  • Thin film characterization, trace analysis and contamination control, RF & DC device characterization
